About Fan Off

Fan Off is a network that is the combination of high quality audio podcasts, blog content, and internet radio; its contents provide reviews of and commentary about various forms of entertainment and culture.

Fan Off began in June of 2004 as Team Game Online, a blog run by William R. Washington and Aaron Laurentani. Over the next year, the site expanded to encompass a broad range of topics of interest to the readers and writers. In June of 2005, TGO released its first podcast—RBR: Weekly Wrestling Talk. Since then, RBR has aired over a hundred and fifty episodes, and remains the most-downloaded show on Fan Off.

The following year marked a large amount of growth. April saw the launch of Alter Ego Comic Cast, while November saw the launch of Anime Round Table and Review; both shows are now established members of the Fan Off lineup. Additionally, November also saw the launch of TGO's original Unsportsmanlike Conduct, as well as the birth of TGO's live broadcasting stream, titled RadioTGO, and the addition of the Pennsylvania Rock Show. The following January saw the launch of The Media Burnout and Morning Toast—Fan Off's only daily show to date.

In June of 2007, Team Game Online LLC. was purchased by internet entrepreneur Jay Fredrick; the company was renamed Fan Off Network the following September. Also, in November of that year, Unsportsmanlike Conduct 2 was launched, replacing the original show that had ended two months earlier.

FanOff.com officially opened in February of 2008; at that time RadioTGO was renamed The Sound Off. Morning Toast aired its final episode the following May, and Now Playing NOW!, Fan Off's newest show, debuted in June.

Today, Fan Off shows are heard by over 15,000 listeners, and the staff has grown to twenty-seven members. Fan Off podcasts are distinguished by their focus on and dedication to individual fandoms, and their unique content. Since its inception, there have been over sixty interviews on Fan Off shows. Past guests have included ESPN's Tony Reali on Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Hellsing's Crispin Freeman on Anime Round Table and Review, and WWE Superstars Chris Jericho and Batista on RBR. Most recently, comic book writer Len Wein, creator of Swamp Thing and Wolverine, appeared on Alter Ego Comic Cast.
