3 Reviews, 3 Games, 3 Sentences

Subtle title, I know. All these reviews are for Xbox 360 games, clicking on the box art takes you to a site selling the game at a cheaper price, and the concept of the title begins after you see this article’s first semicolon:

An extremely fun, button-mashing combat system is hampered by RPG style side missions that give great rewards for doing menial tasks. However, as an introduction to the Naruto world, the game is a light hearted, enjoyable blast. Its quirky demeanor and catering to the uninformed might irk longtime fans, but it gripped me to the point that I feel compelled to venture into this world more, and isn’t that a good enough endorsement?

7.9

One of the best “rushed to market” games I’ve ever played, as it simultaneously exceeds the hype while really falling flat in some areas (such as the “whole universe” concept.) Smartly designed achievements and a plethora of new missions only accessible via character upgrades demand multiple flythroughs for the completionists, and the mere ability to fiddle with the combat powers that you didn’t have in a first playthrough are reason enough to visit the galaxy. Oh, but if the game only had a few more months in development…

9.2

The scope of the game is a bit too big for its own good, and considering the inability to mark specific areas on you map with a marker, it makes navigating the area a bit of a chore. Instead of having a destination in mind and deciding to roam around a bit, you always feel as if you’re wandering aimlessly while spending more time finding the events than actually playing them. Thankfully, the Burnout formula, graphics, and especially the online components have improved, thus making Paradise feel like a worthy extension of the franchise.

8.8

Until next time…
