So I'm not sure if we've hinted around or not bout the upcoming guest for the show on the 10th. Yes, we have a guest on the show. Not only that, we have FIVE other guests booked for upcoming shows.

And this Wednesday? It's Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon.

Shut up! What a score!

(Unless it's just David talking to them in Portuguese. Then I'll not be able to follow. But I'd still probably listen.)

Sounds interesting.

I'd suggest Rob Leifeld for a follow up.

"When fleshing out a character, at what point do you decide how many pouches he should have? Is there such a thing as too many?"

So, I just listened to the "Special Edition" while clearing my driveway of that MFing plow residue . . .

Terrific interview, and those two were fascinating. It was interesting to hear how their grasp of the medium has progressed from being pure visual to having to be much more disciplined with scripts.

(Rabbit trail - I got into a debate about what consitiutes and "Indie" book, and I believe it has to do with lack of editorial control. Interesting to hear how they had to change their basic method in order to work a Vertigo Book.)

Anyway, nice job, gents!

One thing did stick out for me (since I listened to it on headphones, which was really rare): I could literally hear the wheels in Austin's head turn when the bros said they could trade their used books for new ones at the comic shop. I could feel him run through his inventory at lightening speed.

Yeah, that sort of blew my mind. It seems like a good idea, albeit a sort of counterintuitive method as well, since you would be moving new product and replacing it with older.

I had so many questions I could've asked about the trade-in policy, but I didn't really think it was too relevant, so I let it go. I'm sure the shop they were trading their books to had some sort of policies in place to ensure they weren't getting damaged or ancient titles that were no longer sought after.

Also, just to let everyone know, we'll probably start doing interviews like this every time now, posting them separately so as to allow our maximum amount of stupidity in the regular show. Also, it makes it easier if people just want to hear the interview. We by no means think it's always worth slogging through listening to us talk about Nikola Tesla or Massassins in order to get to an interview.

But hey, maybe it is sometimes?

Loved Alter Ego Extra #1!! I hadn't really read or looked at (gotta cover both the art and the writing there) any of their books previously (yes, that does include Ba's work on Umbrella Academy, I do plan on fixing that soon), but I just felt something that got me to pick up Daytripper #1, and I'm loving their work. I'm definitely going to look for some of their other books. Details was one that was mentioned in the show, right? It's from Dark Horse and it sounds good. Anything else from them that would be worth picking up?

I like the idea of separating the interviews out of the podcast, mainly to keep the length manageable. I would be more likely to listen to both. Otherwise, I usually listen to the news/buzz/picks/show stuff and leave the interviews for later. The problem is that later rarely comes, and I sometimes miss a great interview because I forget to go back to it. This way, it stays dotted on my iPod until I can get to it.

Oh, and anyone who wants groundbreaking, cool comics should pick up the two Casanova arcs.

It's an awesome and rewarding title that just blows my mind. Plus, it makes a lot of Grant Morrison books much less intimidating. Read Casanova and you'll find that 7 Soldiers is a breeze. I can't see how anyone else could have drawn the books better.
