Oh, I know a thing or two.99STROWNS77 wrote:Gargoyles is a decent show at best. At a time of X-Men, Batman TAS, and Spiderman this was highly underrated. It has a following and a lot of people enjoy it but it's your basic Disney heroes vs villains. The stories were well done and very dark for the time also
I think you kind of missed the point of Gargoyles. The underlying tone of acceptance which played in part with the way society is to this day. The Gargoyles are feared, hated, and misunderstood by humans, and yet Goliath and his clan do everything within their might to protect them. Some people accept and look past their outer features, like Eliza Maza. Some use the trust that Goliath gives to others for their own benefit, like David Xanatos, who is one of THE BEST cartoon villains of all time. And even some Gargoyles decide to simply give up trying to protect the people and do what they feel is best for themselves. Like Goliath's former flame Demona.
Is it the best cartoon of that time? Nope. But it was action packed, full of drama, and had an undercurrent of comparison to modern day society that makes it very interesting. I suggest watching "Gargoyles the Movie: The Heroes Awaken", which is really just the first five episodes pilot-arc "Awakening" in one package and see if you like it or not. Here is the first episode to give you a taste, but as a five part pilot, I do suggest watching the whole thing before making a decision.
