THR is reporting that Marvel Studios has offered The First Avenger: Captain America to Chris Evans, who played Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the "Fantastic Four" movies.

I think he'll do an okay job. Cap is a hard one to cast since he's got to "manly" enough to be Cap, but boyish enough to be a 19-20 year old sickly Steve Rogers.

I can't decided if I like this or not. He played a great role as Johnny Storm I thought. I felt like they had a few other possible actors that were being considered that could have easily been Cap. Chris Evans plays a really good cocky character which I just don't see him being Captain America the leader of the Avengers.

It is a hard thing to cast. Cause he has to look young enough at first, and then like he's in his 30s later. We'll see. It's better than Channing Tatum.

I guess I just pictured someone with a bigger or more intimidating size. I am not super familiar with the Captain but I feel like I understand it enough. I just imaged the actor to be someone with a bigger size and I would have never expected them to re-cast an already established actor within the marvel world.

I always thought that someone of the stature and appearance of Howie Long should portray Captain America . . . not that Howie Long is a great actor . . . Of course, I also thought Long would have looked good as Duke from G.I.Joe, but whatever.
