I finally found something from WWE that makes me tune out

Postby Skatz » Tue Mar 27, 2012 8:48 pm

You know what, after seeing Raw, I really have to mention this now. Look, there is a lot of shit that I can watch and ultimately tolerate to the point that I don't want to turn off the show, which is maybe unlike the case with some of you. I can easily tolerate Michael Cole when he's on a rant. I can sit through a Divas match. Hornswoggle? It won't last long. Mr. McMahon wants to do something to stroke his ego or be a bully, well fuck, it's his company, more power to him. Kane/Cena can have a ton of fat to chew on and unintentional comedy. All of these things can be bad, but the key to all these things is that I'm not getting physically uncomfortable watching them.

Yet nowadays, whenever I see Khali...not even really walking, but more just stumbling down to the ring trying not to fall...I honestly can't watch this anymore. I am literally cringing and changing the channel because I can't bear to watch this guy just disintegrate on live TV anymore and wonder how in the hell is this guy going to support himself physically in a few years.

If the guy is trying to get as much cash as possible before he tries to shut himself down, then God bless him, I shouldn't be dictating his life. But I almost feel like I'm watching an old circus elephant trying to do a trick and barely be able to stand. It's really sad to me, it feels exploitative, and I actually feel bad that I could possibly be watching and thus supporting this display.

I don't really watch too much old wrestling, so I've never really seen how bad Andre the Giant was in his dying years, even though I hear he was in far worse shape than this. I find that hard to believe, but I never want to contrast and compare this.

I read your first two paragraphs and had circus elephant in mind for my response already. Spot on. "Let's squeeze what we can out of the big freak".

Andre was really bad towards the end. At Wrestlemania VII, he was constantly holding on to the barricade for support when he ran in to help the Big Bossman. At that point I think he needed a cane just to walk around.

I think Andre was worse. Especially in his tag team run with Haku, he was rarely tagged in and was just enforcing by looking intimidating.

Also the fact the Vince is putting Khali in wrestlemania match and Brodus Clay was taken off of tv to improve his in ring work and Clay is doing nothing but killing jobbers still. I'm not a wrestling expert but I think its bullshit that vince has hard on for these monsters that can barely move. Then you have guys out there busting there ass, getting hurt doing stupid ass spots that sometimes are just unnecessary.

As long as I get to keep hearing his awesome theme song and see goofy white people dance to it in the crowd, I'm OK with his existence.

I hope that Khali is only making what he can before shutting it down. It's clear that he is pretty much useless in the ring at this point (not that he was ever really good to begin with, but whatevs). The last time I saw him walking to the ring, I was legit fearful that he'd fall over because his legs are so shot.
You gon' get got!
