You know what, after seeing Raw, I really have to mention this now. Look, there is a lot of shit that I can watch and ultimately tolerate to the point that I don't want to turn off the show, which is maybe unlike the case with some of you. I can easily tolerate Michael Cole when he's on a rant. I can sit through a Divas match. Hornswoggle? It won't last long. Mr. McMahon wants to do something to stroke his ego or be a bully, well fuck, it's his company, more power to him. Kane/Cena can have a ton of fat to chew on and unintentional comedy. All of these things can be bad, but the key to all these things is that I'm not getting physically uncomfortable watching them.
Yet nowadays, whenever I see Khali...not even really walking, but more just stumbling down to the ring trying not to fall...I honestly can't watch this anymore. I am literally cringing and changing the channel because I can't bear to watch this guy just disintegrate on live TV anymore and wonder how in the hell is this guy going to support himself physically in a few years.
If the guy is trying to get as much cash as possible before he tries to shut himself down, then God bless him, I shouldn't be dictating his life. But I almost feel like I'm watching an old circus elephant trying to do a trick and barely be able to stand. It's really sad to me, it feels exploitative, and I actually feel bad that I could possibly be watching and thus supporting this display.
I don't really watch too much old wrestling, so I've never really seen how bad Andre the Giant was in his dying years, even though I hear he was in far worse shape than this. I find that hard to believe, but I never want to contrast and compare this.
