I remembered listening Nick say Area Code: (720) that's Colorado. Matt also said this tonight, which means it was the correct number. Don't remember the rest though. :( :P

I don't want to make posts about what I liked/didn't like until I'm done with the show BUT I've forgotten to mention this for a few weeks now - Paul's idea for the whole Joe Park/Abyss thing where it's split personalities and Joe isn't aware he is Abyss would be a fucking awesome outcome to that storyline.

Great show, and Dave was an awesome stand in as always. I REALLY need to listen to some EG+ soon, I dunno why Im waiting. I actually appreciated the near four hour run time as I've got nothing else to do right now. :p

I gotta say though, I was amazed Will put over Punk's promo from Monday so much and called it refreshing. That promo was everything awful about the CM Punk character, was totally disingenuous and hypocritical. How could anyone not hate a promo where he talks about not changing who he is, in between his awful WWE comedy gags. It's getting to the point that I just actively really dislike Punk now.

Because he cut a few angry and bitter promos doesnt change the character he is. He's a sarcastic borderline asshole who isnt afraid of breaking a few rules. His promo was great. People are so used to narrow characters that when someone has a broad personality it doesnt click.

Are Punk's promos close to what they were back in July of last year? Nope. Are some of his insults lame, like goatface and toolbox? Sure. But at least he's not doing this shitty Ace Ventura routine and totally treating the concept of professional wrestling like it's one giant joke.

Austin took it seriously, HBK took it seriously, Bret took it seriously, Hogan took it seriously, Cena exposes how incredible fake the whole thing really is.

The only real knock on Punk is that he constantly used to look at the camera like "lolatthisshit" to the camera and the fact that some of his promos aren't great (Far from as bad as what Cena has done though, Cena at his worst is "why do I watch this shit" level). Thankfully he's stopped doing a lot of his 4th wall stuff, so there's an improvement.

I don't understand why people hate when anyone looks in the camera. It's not breaking the fourth wall, no one's pretending the show isn't being taped.
